The infomercials selected for this page are based on a combination of my subjective opinion of what is ridiculous and the specific infomericals that I had the opportunity and/or foresight to get on tape. I'm always looking for new and laughable infomercials to feature here. So if you have any hilarious infomercials on tape that you would like to see reviewed here, please .

All the infomercials featured at this website are real infomercials that have actually been broadcast. There is no parody here. Hard as it is to believe, the producers of these things meant for them to be taken seriously.

At the top left-hand corner of the pages are the Stats. At the bottom left are direct quotes from the infomercial. The right hand side of the page is devoted to pictures and description.

Here are the meanings of the Stats:

Product & Show Title: The product is, obviously, what is being sold. Not all infomercials have distinct show titles, however. The infomercial show title is a holdover from the early days when every infomercial tried to fool viewers into thinking it was a legitimate talk-show or news program. Show titles are usually something like "Secrets of Success" or "Beauty Discoveries." Most show titles are remarkably forgettable.

Host & Expert: Nearly every infomercial has a host and an expert. The host usually interviews the expert. The expert is often (though not always) the inventor or creator of the product. Unless he or she is a celebrity, the host is usually a forgetable figure. In some infomercials, the expert also acts as the host. The queen of infomercial hosts is Nancy Nelson.

Price: I usually quote the exact phrasing used on the infomercial, such as "Only 4 easy payments of $34.95."

Producers: This is the company that actually puts the infomercial together. Guthy-Renker and Quantum are the most prolific producers of infomercials.
